Boat Stopped Susquehanna Bridge Rail Traffic: Report
There was reportedly a delay on the Susquehanna River railroad bridge due to a boat strike Thursday night.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Rail traffic on the bridge over the Susquehanna River between Havre de Grace and Perryville was temporarily suspended Thursday night. The measure was taken so that Amtrak officials could inspect the railroad bridge to ensure it was safe for travel.
The service suspension lasted a little less than an hour.
Amtrak Northeast announced there had been a "bridge strike" after 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27. As a result, Amtrak reported rail service was stopped from Baltimore to Wilmington, Delaware.

According to WBAL, a boat had run into the bridge.
The bridge had been inspected and reopened by 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, according to Amtrak Northeast.

In addition to the structure, Silver Meteor Train 97 was inspected, according to ABC 2 News. The train runs from New York to Miami.
Officials said there was some residual congestion on the tracks after rail traffic resumed Thursday night between Baltimore and Wilmington.
