Boys Lacrosse: Fallston Wins UCBAC

Horsham's first-quarter hat trick gets Fallston off to a strong start in runaway win.

Greg Horsham had a first-quarter hat trick as Fallston jumped out to a six-goal lead in a 16-2 win in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference title game at Havre de Grace’s James R. Harris Stadium on Tuesday.

The Warriors’ Justin Gosnell scored at the 9:19 mark in the first quarter to even the game at one each, but Fallston rattled off 11 straight goals before Mark Holloway scored with 29 seconds remaining in the half.

Fallston’s Caleb Abney made one save, while Havre de Grace’s Tyler Coakley made 12 stops—many of them from point-blank range against an aggressive Cougars attack.

Horsham scored three goals, Taylor Brown had two goals and an assist, and Kyle D’Onofrio scored twice. Marc Badger scored once and had two assists.

Andy Thrasher, Jason Lawrence and Brian White each had a goal and an assist.

Jeremy Scranton, Sam D’Onofrio, Zach Wheeler and Luke Ward had goals for the Cougars. Chris Dunnigan had an assist.

The game started roughly an hour late as both teams waited on officials to arrive.

Fallston (13-2) earned a No. 7 seed and plays host to No. 10 North Harford in the MPSSAA first round Thursday. The winner of that game will visit No. 2 Overlea.

Havre de Grace (8-5) hosts a yet-to-be-determined opponent Saturday after a first-round bye. The winner of Harford Tech at Edgewood will visit Harris Stadium at noon Saturday.
