Dr. Jo Says, "Control, Alt, Delete" To Stay Healthy, Sane and Productive
Anyone familiar with pc computers will know that pressing, "Control, Alt, Delete" on the keyboard reboots the computer. Dr. Jo likened her suggestions for health to these three keys.
I recently attended a conference for organizers. The National Association for Professional Organizers 2012 conference was held in Baltimore and had well over 800 attendees. It was great! Three days of inspirations, motivational, organizational information.
One presentation in particular resonated with me and that was presented by "Dr. Jo" and titled, "Control, Alt, Delete." Anyone familiar with PC computers will know that pressing, "Control, Alt, Delete" on the keyboard reboots the computer. Dr. Jo likened her suggestions for health to these three keys. She said you need to control your sleep and it's quality, alter your food habits and delete stressful thoughts. It was such a simple mantra that putting it to work in my own life has been easy. I highly recommend you check out her website, drjo.com and look for her new book coming out soon titled, Reboot Your Energy.
Not surprisingly, how we take care of ourselves is often reflected in how we take care of our homes. You may be familiar with a counseling phrase, "If you take care of the inside the outside will follow." There is a constant reciprocal action occurring. If you take care of yourself, your body and your mind you are better able to take care of your home. If you take care of your home you gain confidence to take care of yourself. Judith Kolberg, professional organizer and owner of Fileheads Professional Organizers, reminds us, "Nothing undermines disorganization more than fatigue". Reiterating that in order to tackle the projects we have for ourselves, we must take care of ourselves!

So tonight, I want you to get a good night's sleep, 7.5-8 hours. In the morning eat breakfast and two additional healthy meals with snacks, and monitor your stressful thoughts. Take time to rest so that you can reboot from this crazy, busy world we live in.
