Susquehanna River Bridge: The Past and Present
A look at the Susquehanna River Bridge
Taken shortly after sunrise. The fog, the lighting, and water all fused together to allow for some wonderful photography. The current train bridge, referred to as the , was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1906. In the distance you can see the remains of the P.W. & B Railroad Bridge finished in 1866 after 12 years of construction. In 1910, the P.W. & B Railroad bridge was converted into a vehicle bridge and later a top layer was added creating Havre de Grace’s famous double-decker bridge.
