The Havre de Grace Experience: What To Do When Family Visits?

My wife shared the news with me weeks ago: one of her favorite cousins, who lives in Atlanta, and her husband, were planning a two day visit. It would be their first time in town, so naturally they were looking forward to a Havre de Grace experience as shared by us as townies. 

As the appointed tour guide, I agreed to put together a “high-octane” schedule to showcase all that our town has to offer first time guests. And … as you might have guessed, I waited until the last possible minute to start planning … they arrive Tuesday afternoon. 

With that being said, I thought I would share my shortlist of local things to do and then ask for your help.

I’m thinking a trip to , for a drink or a bite to eat, should be included. there is spectacular and memorable. It deserves to be shown off.

Mt. Felix  Vineyard and Winery is on the list as well. The place is simply beautiful and I think it’s very cool that we have a vineyard so close by.

And finally, our guests are fans of the facebook page “The Ghosts of Havre de Grace.” It might be fun to drive past some of the notoriously haunted places around town and maybe stop by the , which we all know to be very haunted.

I like the list so far, but it needs to be expanded and enhanced to fully embrace the best of what Havre de Grace has to offer. So I thought I might look to you—my neighbors, friends, and fellow residents of this beautiful town—for suggestions.

When you have out-of-town guests visiting Havre de Grace for the first time, where do you take them to provide the “quintessential” Havre de Grace experience?
