Burglary, Sexual Assault Under Investigation in Edgewood: Harford Sheriff
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying the suspect.
After a man broke into a home and tried to sexually assault a woman in Edgewood Monday morning, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for information to help identify the suspect.
At 5:10 a.m. on Monday, a woman who lives in the 1700 block of Crimson Tree Way went downstairs and was heading for the kitchen when she saw a man wearing all black in the dining room going through her purse, police said.
Seeing her, the man grabbed the woman, hit her in the face and began sexually assaulting her, the report from the sheriff’s office said. She fought back, and he eventually stopped, then left the house with jewelry and items from her purse, according to the report.

The victim called police and at 5:45 a.m. on Monday, deputies responded to the residence, the report said. She had minor injuries and declined medical treatment, according to the sheriff’s office.
