Busy, Busy!

Beginning our last week with the girls, we have so much to do!

Wow, what a busy time this is! We only have 5 and a half days left before the girls have to go home to Colombia. Monica has started talking about it already, and I can tell that they are trying to prepare themselves. Well, at least Monica and Diana. Jeimy tends to live in the moment. <smile>

Today, we said goodbye to Monica’s friend, Leidy. What a delightful young lady she is! Even though Monica is clearly her friend, she was gracious to and inclusive of Diana and Jeimy throughout her visit. Last night for her last meal with us, we had tacos—her favorite. It was the girls’ first time having tacos, and they LOVED them! I asked which they liked more, the tacos or the crabs. Sadly, tacos won hands-down. Hmmm, someone will have to work on that…

After we said “hasta luego” to Leidy and her grandmother, we headed back home to go swimming with our friends. Even though it was a bit cold, the girls had a GREAT time. They threw rings and played with the beach ball. They were having so much fun, they still protested getting out a little bit even though their lips started turning blue!

After a quick lunch back home, Padrino took the girls out to Wal Mart. They love going there! They got to pick out birthday presents for their friend and fellow Kidsave Summer Miracles kid Esperanza. Her host family is celebrating her September birthday early, and our girls are excited to go.

Tomorrow is our last official Kidsave event. We host families will get together to discuss departure plans. I am not looking forward to it, frankly. Recently, someone inquired about when they would be leaving, and I straight up responded that I didn’t want to talk about that. Monica is beginning to process her return home and seems to know that the time is coming. I will do my best to remain positive and upbeat for their sakes, but honestly I would just feel so much more peaceful if I could see how God is working out His plan for these precious girls.
