Call for 2013 HHS Hall of Fame Nominations

Nominations are due by Aug. 19 to Havre de Grace High School.

The Havre de Grace High School Hall of Fame is accepting nominations.

Founded in 2010, the program to recognize outstanding alumni is now entering its fourth year.

To be nominated, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduated from Havre de Grace High School
  • Acts as role model for youths, positively impacting society
  • Exemplifies the school motto of "Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve"
  • Demonstrates "exceptionality" in his/her field

Previous honorees include Millard Tydings (class of '06), David Craig (class of '67), George D. Lisby (class of '49), Madelyn Mitchell Shank (class of '45) and several others; see the list of past inductees for more names.

Those selected as this year's award-winners will be inducted on Oct. 25 during homecoming weekend, according to Rick Hauf, who helped found the Havre de Grace High School Hall of Fame.

To submit a nomination, send a statement explaining how the individual has lived the school motto and what his/her social impact has been. The nomination should include references to outstanding work by this person in his/her field, as well as the individual's name and year of graduation from Havre de Grace High School.

Submit nominations in writing by Aug. 19 to Havre de Grace High School, Hall of Fame Committee, 700 Congress Ave., Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
