Candidates Begin Filing for 2015 Havre de Grace Election

The deadline to file for municipal election is Tuesday, March 17.

This spring, the citizens of Havre de Grace will decide who will fill three council seats and the mayor’s office.

The deadline for interested individuals to file for candidacy is Tuesday, March 17, according to Havre de Grace Deputy Director of Administration Joan Scarlato.

As of Tuesday morning, Scarlato said that two people have filed as mayoral candidates and four have filed for city council seats:

  • Mayor—Charles Hiner and Bill Martin
  • City council—Johnny Boker, John Correri Jr., Fred Cullum and David Martin

David Martin is not related to Bill Martin, The Aegis reported.

The deadline to file for candidacy is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at Havre de Grace City Hall, 711 Pennington Avenue.

All elected officials serve two-year terms.

The current city officials whose positions are up for a vote are Mayor Wayne Dougherty and council members John Correri Jr., Randolph Craig and Fred Cullum.

The election will take place Tuesday, May 5.
