HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Move over, kiddos. Three Havre de Grace police officers took their turn on the slide on Thursday as the Carnival on the Chesapeake opened.
"We are at the Carnival on the Chesapeake," the Havre de Grace Police Department posted on its Facebook page Thursday with the video of three officers going down the slide on potato sacks.
"Come down to Tydings Park and say hello! Your SRO team will be here through the duration of the carnival," police said.

The carnival, which was originally slated for September, was pushed back due to what was then Hurricane Florence. Now the event is taking place from Thursday, Oct. 25, to Sunday, Oct. 28.
Here are the hours for the festivities:

- 6-10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25
- 5-10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26
- 3-10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27
- Noon-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28
The Carnival on the Chesapeake is at Tydings Park, 321 Commerce Street, Havre de Grace.
