NORTH EAST, Md: Cecil College was proud to honor some of the brightest minds in the region on Wednesday, Sept. 23, when 85 students were inducted into the Alpha Alpha Theta (AAT) Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society. The ceremony was held in the Technology Center on the North East Campus, bringing the total College membership to more than 225 students and more than 1,500 alumni. The AAT Chapter at Cecil College was founded in 1974.
PTK is the International Honor Society which serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students while providing opportunities for individual growth and development through educational, leadership, and service programming. It is the largest honor society in American higher education. To qualify, students must have a 3.5 grade point average or higher and be recommended by faculty. In addition to honoring these students, the College is proud that AAT Chapter members continue to work to maintain the Five-Star Level status as part of PTK’s Five-Star Chapter Plan. Under Cecil College’s PTK student leadership and advisors Professor Ashley Fundack, Ph.D.; Cheryl Davis-Robinson, Director of Student Life; and Kelsey Jakubac, Coordinator of Student Engagement, the College continues to promote and support a strong, engaged chapter.
