Celebrities To Appear In New Havre de Grace CAT Club Film

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Citizens Against Trash produced a film that will premiere this weekend. Concord Point Coffee will host the screening as well as a pizza party and volunteer appreciation event that is open to the public.

The event is slated for Sunday, March 24, at the coffee shop on Washington Street.

According to the Havre de Grace Citizens Against Trash (CAT) Club, the group's new film"Pick it UP" will make its debut at the volunteer appreciation party.

In the film, professional actor Andre Braugher ("Homicide: Life on the Street") will be featured as well as Harford County celebrities Camay Murphy, County Executive Barry Glassman, Havre de Grace Mayor Bill Martin and Havre de Grace Police Chief Teresa Walter. Of course, CAT Club volunteers are in the film too.

The CAT Club was organized at the end of 2012 by Al Peteraf and meets every Saturday morning to pick up litter around Havre de Grace. The goal is to have a litter-free community, and all are welcome to participate.

In addition to honoring its volunteers, the Havre de Grace CAT Club is celebrating its recent Keep Maryland Beautiful grant award from the Maryland Environmental Trust, the Department of Housing and Community Development and the Department of Transportation.

The Havre de Grace CAT Club Volunteer Appreciation Day pizza party and film screening will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Concord Point Coffee, 217 North Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
