As you probably already know, Jolene (aka JoRetro) has an incredible eye for Mid-Century Modern style. Her pristine items are often mistaken for reproductions because they are so close to new old stock! She specializes in authentic 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s items including the most fabulous collection of vintage mod clothing. JoRetro has occupied one half of the current GreenJoy store at 467 Franklin Street for the past two years. Starting November 1st JoRetro will occupy the whole store!!! We can’t wait to see how fabulous that will be!!

The GreenJoy brand started several years ago as a section in Bahoukas Antique Mall. It began as a way to repurpose vintage estate fabrics into rugs, purses and shopping totes. It later expanded to include other eco-friendly items including glass drinking straws, heirloom organic gardening seeds and plant based cookbooks and food items. Two years ago, in November of 2013, GreenJoy and JoRetro joined together at the current location.

As JoRetro expands to fill the entire Franklin Street space, GreenJoy will return to its original home in Bahoukas Antique Mall at 408 North Union Avenue. Starting November 1st , Bahoukas Antique Mall will be your new headquarters for GreenJoy items including a large selection of aged Balsamic Vinegars and other items to support your eco-friendly and plant based lifestyle!

What will happen to “The Meeting Place”?

The space comfortably holds 18 when set up classroom style.

The second floor space is also shared with “Plant Focused Nutrition” – a Private Practice owned by Registered Dietitian Barbara Wagner. Her practice involves both individual consultations and group nutrition and cooking classes. Her focus is on helping others achieve health thru eating a whole foods plant based diet and including naturally fermented foods (plant based yogurt, kombucha, vegetable fermentation).

“The Meeting Place” and Barbara Wagner, RD, LDN “Plant Focused Nutrition” will still continue to operate from the second floor space at 467 Franklin Street. The space will continue to be available for rent for a modest fee to individuals and groups.
