Community Invites MIX 106.5 to Support Warriors Homecoming
The radio station sponsors a 'Rise Up' contest for struggling football teams.

Havre de Grace High School is in the ring for MIX 106.5's "Rise Up" challenge.
The morning show staff at the radio station selects a team it wants to help each week.
Who qualifies? According to the pitch from MIX, "local high school football teams that are having a tough year" are in the running, and that station says: "WE are going to rally around a new team every week to help that team Rise Up!"
The contest is open through Monday, according to Havre de Grace Warriors football, which has been encouraging people to vote.
MIX 106.5 says it will deliver "Rise Up" t-shirts the day before the game and pay a visit to the school that is selected. Recent winners include Owings Mills and Joppatowne.
The big question people have to answer is on the MIX 106.5 FM website: "What high school team needs our help and why?"
Here's what one person posted on the MIX Morning Show Facebook page: "After losing many players and coaches over the past few years they are a team of rebuilding. The school is having it's 1st Homecoming Parade this year and it would be an Honor to have them wear their Rise Up Tshirts and be supported even more by the community and Mix 106.5. They are the smallest school in Harford County and this opportunity would be that extra push they need to make their Homecoming Extra Special!!!!!" —Jill Miller via Facebook
Havre de Grace plays Aberdeen at 7 p.m. Friday in its homecoming game. The Warriors' record is 3-4. The Eagles head into the game with a 4-3 record.
