Concord Point Lighthouse Lights Up Blue For Fallen Heroes
Downtown Havre de Grace and the lighthouse were illuminated in recognition of Fallen Heroes Day.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Concord Point Lighthouse and the downtown business district were illuminated blue Friday for Fallen Heroes Day, according to the city of Havre de Grace.
Fallen Heroes Day has been recognized the first Friday in May each year since 1986 with a ceremony at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens to honor first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty.
This year was to mark the 35th Fallen Heroes Ceremony but due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the event was postponed to 2021.

"As we get through this global pandemic together," the city of Havre de Grace said in a statement, "we must never forget the sacrifices made by our first responders."
To recognize health care workers, Gov. Larry Hogan has also encouraged people across Maryland to shine blue lights for Health Care Heroes Day Saturday, May 2.
