Counterfeit $100 Bills Appear at HdG Businesses: Police
Anyone with information about the suspect trying to use counterfeit money in Havre de Grace is asked to call police at 410-939-2121.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Police Department is asking for information about the suspect in a case of counterfeit money. Police said that the man tried to use fake $100 bills at two businesses Wednesday along the US 40 corridor.
Authorities said they responded to one Route 40 business after 8:30 p.m. where the suspect had passed a counterfeit $100 bill, and patrol officers learned the same person tried unsuccessfully to do the same thing at another store.
In both cases, police said the man had tried to buy items worth a small amount of money with the $100 bills.

The suspect was described as a 5’9” to 5’10” tall black man with a dark complexion who was wearing glasses, a baseball cap, dark clothing and some sort of ID badge around his neck.
Anyone with information about this case or similar ones in nearby jurisdictions is asked to contact the Havre de Grace Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 410-939-2121 extension 1154 or 1160.

Business owners are asked to try to get a description of the suspect and/or vehicle information. If possible, police would like to be notified immediately if the suspect is on the premises to interview him at the scene.
