Darlington Man Died After Crashing into Pole: Sheriff
A Darlington driver lost control of his vehicle Sunday and died from his injuries Monday, Harford County Sheriff's Office reports.

DARLINGTON, MD - A Darlington man died Monday afternoon following a weekend crash, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Ryan Thomas Gentry, 22, of Darlington, crashed into a utlity pole on Granite Road and Maple Drive, the report said.
Deputies responded to the location at 4:37 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27, the sheriff’s office reported.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Gentry was driving a 1997 Chevrolet 4S south on Granite Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which went off the road and hit a utility pole, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company took Gentry in critical condition to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries Monday afternoon, the sheriff’s office reported.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle, and Gentry’s was the only vehicle involved in the collision, according to the report.
Investigators are continuing to look into what led to the crash, officials said Monday in a news release.
