David Craig: 'I am Going to Be a Candidate for Governor'
The Harford County executive made the announcement in Havre de Grace Monday morning.
Harford County Executive David Craig appeared in his hometown of Havre de Grace Monday morning to make it official: He's running for Maryland governor in 2014.
"I am going to be a candidate for governor in the great state of Maryland," Craig said, speaking before a crowd in St. Patrick Hall.
Craig has been the county executive since 2005 in Harford County. Before that, he was mayor of Havre de Grace for a decade, and he spent more than 30 years as an educator and administrator in the Harford County public school system.

Craig's candidacy for governor was "one of the world's worst kept secrets and one of the best ideas I've ever heard," the event emcee, Dick Story, former CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, said.
