Decoy Museum Hosts HdG City Council Meeting
The Havre de Grace City Council leaves its chambers Monday night in an initiative to promote community involvement.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — In an effort to bring local government closer to the people, the Havre de Grace City Council is holding its Sept. 19 meeting in the community. Monday night's meeting will be held at the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum at 215 Giles Street.
This is the third meeting planned to be held in the community since the council passed a resolution (Resolution No. 2016-03) permitting the council to move three of its regularly scheduled meetings to locations other than City Hall.
The first council meeting held in the community was April 18 at the Bulle Rock Residents Club. The second was slated for July 18 at Hutchins Park; however, that one was moved back to City Hall due to extremely high temperatures; and the third is planned for Sept. 19 at the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum.

Havre de Grace Mayor Bill Martin told The Aegis the concept of moving meetings out of City Hall came from the mayor of Laurel, who was recognized by the Maryland Municipal League for holding municipal meetings in the park of that city to promote civic participation.
Here is the council agenda for the meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 19:
