Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti Responds To Censure
Maryland Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti released a prepared statement in response to being censured by the House of Delegates.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — When the House of Delegates met Thursday night in Annapolis to vote on a resolution to censure Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti, the Havre de Grace lawmaker was not given the floor. Since she did not make remarks there, she released her statement afterward.
Lisanti recounted what happened the night that she is accused of using a racial slur. The word was allegedly used to describe a district within Prince George's County where one of her colleagues had knocked on doors to campaign.
She was in a cigar bar in Annapolis after a 17-hour work day when she is said to have used the "n" word.

"...someone in attendance heard or thought they overheard an inappropriate word and attributed it to me," Lisanti said. She said that the person contacted a member of the media "in lieu of reporting the incident in accordance with our newly adopted harassment policy."
She said that the word was "not an action, behavior or course of conduct."
