Fire Marshal Seeks Info in Conowingo Boat Launch Blaze
Investigators said they would like information about a 'person of interest.'
The Office of the State Fire Marshal said investigators need help locating a vehicle and person of interest seen in surveillance footage connected to a fire at the Conowingo boat launch.
At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, the driver of the vehicle—which was a dark-colored, four-door Pontiac Sunfire or similar model—got out of the car in the area of the Exelon Conowingo boat launch in Cecil County, according to a statement from the fire marshal.
Surveillance footage showed the person near the picnic table on the east corner of the boat launch area, the statement said.
Soon after the vehicle left, the picnic table was seen on fire, and flames spread to the nearby woods, according to the report.
Members of the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company arrived and put out the fire, according to the statement.
Anyone with information about the person or vehicle involved may contact the North East Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at 410-836-4844.
