Duck Drops, 2017 Begins with a Bang in Havre de Grace

The Susquehanna Hose Company helped Havre de Grace kick off 2017 with its traditional decoy-themed New Year's celebration.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A manmade duck fell and 2017 started with a bang outside Havre de Grace Middle School, where the annual New Year's celebration was held Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The Susquehanna Hose Company dropped the duck and flashed "2017" in lights from a ladder truck at the school. After the duck was dropped, a fireworks show delighted the crowd off Lewis Lane.
