DUI Charge Filed Against Driver Who Made Abrupt Stop: HdG Police

Police said a Chapel Road man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A Havre de Grace man was charged with DUI after a traffic stop in the 900 block of Pulaski Highway recently. Police said a strange occurrence on the road caught an officer's attention.

The man had stopped his gold Grand Prix in the middle of Union Avenue before 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 3,according to police.

After a short period of time, he started driving again, going north on Union to Otsego Street to Pulaski Highway/US 40.

At 11:36 p.m. on Nov. 3, police conducted a traffic stop and upon noticing a strong odor of alcohol, gave the man several field sobriety tests.

The 31-year-old, from the 1800 block of Chapel Road, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol.
