Two One-Act Plays in a Single Night on Lewis Lane
The Lewis Lane Players, along with the HdG Drama Guild's Teen Troupe, will be presenting "Mixed Relief" and "Trifles" on May 29 and 30.
On May 29 and 30, the Havre de Grace Drama Guild’s Teen Troupe and the Lewis Lane Players will be coming together for the first time to bring you two classic one act plays in a single night!
First, the Teen Troupe will bring you Mixed Relief, New Shoe Productions’ play that traces the lives of several female 20th century writers in their own words and discusses the role that government programs have played in benefiting the arts, including the New Deal era Federal Writers’ Project and Federal Theatre Project and the modern National Endowment for the Arts.
After a brief intermission, the Lewis Lane Players will present Susan Glaspell’s early 20th century murder mystery, Trifles. In 1916, the concerns of women were considered to be mere trifles in a society run by men. When a murder occurs, the male investigators think they have things well in hand, but it is their wives who may have true insight into the crime.
