Ernest Testerman of Darlington Dies at 59

Havre de Grace High School graduate is past president of the Maryland Pharmacists Association.

Ernest David “Ernie” Testerman died on Thursday, March 5. He was 59.

Testerman graduated from Havre de Grace High School with the class of 1973. He went on to the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where he earned his diploma with honors in 1979, according to his obituary.

He worked for Thrift Drug, Elkton Pharmacy and Acme Savon, treating his customers like individuals who were extended family, the obituary says.

In 1996, Testerman was president of the Maryland Pharmacists Association.

His interests included learning, gardening and wildlife photography.

He leaves behind a host of loved ones, including a wife, children, grandchildren and relatives who knew him as “Uncle Ernie,” according to his obituary.

Visitation will be from 3–5 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at Zellman Funeral Home, 123 S. Washington St.

A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, at the funeral home as well.
