Faulty Lacrosse Protector Recalled by Baltimore Company

A faulty throat protector for lacrosse goalies is being recalled by Baltimore-based STX.

A Baltimore-based sports goods manufacturer is recalling a throat protector used by lacrosse goalies after a player suffered cuts and bruises as a result of a faulty device, reports CBS DC.

STX says about 4,000 Shield throat protectors are affected by the recall. The company says the guard can crack or break when struck by a lacrosse ball.

Customers should stop using the device and call the company at (888) 789-7894 for a refund. Additional information can be found on the STX website.
