Fire Engulfs Garage In Cecil County
BREAKING: A three-alarm fire in Cecil County has resulted in firefighters around the region stepping up to assist.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — A three-alarm fire in Cecil County has shut down a section of US 40 and drawn firefighters from around the region to assist. The Cecil County Sheriff's Office advised Mechanics Valley Road was closed between US 40 and Route 7, and Route 40 was closed to eastbound traffic in the area before 5 p.m. on Friday.
A single-story detached garage filled with tires was overtaken by flames, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company, which had two engines at the scene of the fire. One of its engines was covering the North East fire station, and the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company was handling the hose company's calls in Havre de Grace.
Multiple crews from Harford County are working in Cecil County stations, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
