Frosted Crab Soup, Calypso Music, Art Party at HdG First Friday
Mosaics and music are on tap for First Friday.

First Friday is here already!
Havre de Grace Main Street hosts a party downtown the first Friday of the month, May through October, and August's affair promises to enliven the senses from 5 to 9 p.m.
Treat your tastebuds to samples of Frosted Crab Soup and Seafood Chili from Silks Restaurant at Bulle Rock. Find the Silks booth at the street fair downtown and receive a coupon; 100 block of Washington St.
Feast your eyes on mosaics, sculpture, photography, paintings and other art forms on Warren Street at Arts by the Bay Gallery. Have you ever wondered what motivated an artist to create a certain piece? Ask the masters themselves during a "Midsummer Art Reception" from 7 to 9 p.m., when the artists will be on hand to discuss their work. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Laurrapin Grille and a cash bar with wine and beer will also be available; 500 Warren St.
After soaking in the sights at the gallery, follow your ears to Caribbean restaurant Kairi Lele, where there will be a DJ playing calypso/soca and reggae music outside; 109 N. Washington St.
Next door, check out the goods at Stirling Bridge Jewelry and receive 30 to 50 percent off select pieces. In front of the store, there will be sidewalk sales and sand art; 115 N. Washington St.
VFW Post 8126 will have a tent on the 300 block of St. John St. near MacGregor's, where members will be selling pit beef. There will also be an open house for veterans and potential members; 300 N. Lodge Ln.
