First Friday is Moving Inside Due to Rain
Vendors may not set up outside for First Friday, but there will be special promotions and two ribbon cuttings indoors, city officials say.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD – Because of rain, First Fridays in Havre de Grace will be moving inside on Friday, May 6.
There is a 100 percent chance of rain all day long in Havre de Grace, where a coastal flood advisory is in effect until noon; minor flooding is expected at the City Yacht Basin, according to the National Weather Service.
With First Friday moved inside, vendors will be prohibited from setting up outside on the streets.

Instead, there will be promotions inside local shops and restaurants to celebrate the first friday of the month, city officials announced Friday morning.
Various businesses are participating in the city's "Paint the Town Purple" campaign, which is raising awareness about the fight against cancer in advance of the Havre de Grace Relay for Life, set for May 20. A portion of sales from "purple promotions" at these businesses will go toward Relay for Life:

Washington Street will be lit up purple from May 2 to May 8 to promote cancer awareness, and purple ribbons and donation cans will also be places around town, according to city officials.
Havre de Grace Mayor Bill Martin noted two additional events that are happening leading up to First Friday—ribbon cuttings at two local businesses.
At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, officials will cut the ribbon at Danielle Bellezza Acupuncture Clinic at 225 Saint John Street.
Then at 5 p.m., they will celebrate the opening of Integrity Real Estate at 309 Saint John Street.
