First Friday: Music, Arts, Snowballs on Tap for Downtown District

September's First Friday celebration kicks off in Havre de Grace at 5 p.m.

Havre de Grace will celebrate the First Friday of September in the downtown district beginning at 5 p.m.

There will be music, restaurant and bar specials, entertainment and vendor booths, and the Snowball Experience— of the presence of the business at public events. The mobile do-it-yourself snowball stand will operate from its normal post on Pennington Avenue between Washington and St. John streets.

The following musical acts will perform in locations around the arts & entertainment district:

  • Al Peteraf and Friends in the courtyard of the
  • Live music at
  • Jack Fox & Sassy & Friends will be performing Rochambeau Plaza

Non-perishable food items and monetary contributions donated at Rochambeau Plaza will go to programs to support the hungry and homeless.

Annette Abrams, author of My Body Needs Help, will sign her book in a rotation of Havre de Grace shops: from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Amanda's Florist, from 2:45-4 p.m. at Vincenti Decoys, from 4:15-5:45 p.m. at Island Jack, and from 5:45-9 p.m. at the Main Street booth at Pennington Avenue and Washington Street.

Main Street will also raffle a basket of items from downtown businesses at its booth.
