Flag Burning in Port Deposit Under Investigation

A flag was set on fire in Port Deposit Monday morning, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
At 1:35 a.m., an area resident notified authorities that there was a fire on a porch in the unit block of North Main Street in Port Deposit, the fire marshal reported.
A flagpole on the front porch was ablaze, and did not require any fire department response, the report said.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set.
The fire caused $200 in damage and destroyed an American flag that was attached to the front of the home, according to the report.
