Fuel Spill Caused Closure Near Route 22: Officials

The closure on I-95 lasted for several hours Friday, according to Maryland Transportation Authority.

UPDATE—The Maryland Transportation Authority reported at 5:55 p.m. on Friday that the ramp and right lane on Interstate 95 south at MD 22 have reopened.

Previously, a fuel spill near Aberdeen caused delays for southbound travelers Friday afternoon on I-95, transportation officials said.

At 1:55 p.m., there was a disabled vehicle reported on I-95 south past the exit 85 for MD 22/Churchville Road, according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART).

The right lane was blocked due to a disabled tractor-trailer that had a fuel spill, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

After 3 p.m., the authority said that the ramp was blocked from MD 22 to I-95 and it advised drivers to use US 40 as an alternate route.
