Susquehanna Hose Company and Level Volunteer Fire Company open their doors to the public.

Ever wanted to take a peek inside one of the firehouses around Havre de Grace?

Each October, fire companies across the nation host their annual open houses in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week. The National Fire Protection Association establishes a theme for the annual event to educate the public, and the 2014 Fire Prevention Week theme is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives; Test Yours Every Month.”

The Susquehanna Hose Company is hosting its annual open house this weekend, according to the Harford Fire Blog. Firefighters invite visitors to meet the members, take a tour and look at the various pieces of equipment at the station. Kids can climb aboard the fire trucks, and there will be other activities as well such as demonstrations.
