Gold Star Monument To Honor Harford Military Families Who Lost Loved Ones
The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument broke ground in Havre de Grace on Monday, Sept. 11.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD - A first-of-its-kind monument for Harford County broke ground in Havre de Grace on Monday afternoon. The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument will pay tribute to the families who have lost loved ones in military service.
The public as well as Gold Star Families, current and former military members and veterans organizations were invited to attend the Sept. 11 groundbreaking for the monument.
Scheduled to speak at the ceremony were Havre de Grace Mayor Bill Martin and former County Executive David Craig.

The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Project Committee, city of Havre de Grace and the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation are making the monument possible.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument was at Concord Point Lighthouse and Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11. A reception followed at the American Legion Joseph L. Davis Post 47, 501 St. John St., Havre de Grace. Find more information or donate online.
