GREAT ESCAPE: Painting Is Therapy

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.

Visual artist Liz Howshall, owner of the on Washington Street, says that painting is simply “euphoric,” and offers up a “wonderful, relaxing state of mind.”

So what happens if you can’t even draw a stick figure, but you’ve always wanted to try your hand with a few brush strokes? A painting workshop might be just up your alley.

Enter artist , who has certainly helped paint beautiful. Berger will be leading a class this Sunday which uses environmentally friendly oil-based paint to help you compose a piece that will satisfy your inner artist. You will also gain knowledge on how to blend colors while learning different techniques.

What if you are a seasoned artist and need a jolt of inspiration? That’s fine too. All levels of artists are encouraged to participate.

The workshop, sponsored by the Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies, runs from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The cost—including materials—is $40. To RSVP call 410-939-6424.
