GREAT ESCAPE: Step Into History With a Tour
Historical Walking Tours provided by Main Street Inc. will get you pumped about your city's history.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.
What better way to escape the pressures and doldrums of life than to expand your knowledge of Havre de Grace’s history and get some exercise while you’re at it.
Beginning this Saturday, the historic walking tours will be offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on Sunday’s at 2 p.m.

According to Mitch Shank, Chair of the Arts and Entertainment Committee for Main Street and organizer of the tours, people can expect a “neat little walk.”
With local guides adding their own personal flare and dressed in time-period costumes, you’ll be swept up into the fun of yesterday. You’ll go back in time to 1608 when Captain John Smith discovered this small slice of heaven, and learn about the buildings, street names and famous citizens of past and present Havre de Grace.
