About four weeks ago, I received a phone call from my recruiter that I got the job I interviewed for in this city. She said, " congratulations!, you got the job at Har de Grace, MD"! And so I have been omitting the letter "v" when I pronounce the name Havre de Grace.
On my first day at work, I couldn't help myself but ask how to pronounce it right. An elderly patient who I had told me that "it's okay, even President JFK did not know how to".
I adore the simplicity and quietness of the city. I had taken a morning stroll at the promenade one afternoon and it feels great to meet the refreshing soft breeze coming from the bay.
There is some sense of greatness in me that I feel knowing that part of my journey as a traveling therapist will be spent on this old city. And to top it off, I will be living in a house built in 1822! Exciting!
