Harford County Opens 11 Cooling Centers
The Havre de Grace Library and 10 other locations are open as cooling centers on Thursday.

As the temperatures climb on Thursday—with an anticipated high of 102 degrees on the heat index in Havre de Grace around 3 p.m.—officials have designated libraries around the county as cooling centers.
During normal business hours, there will be 11 places where citizens can go to cool off in the air conditioning.
Libraries are open from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays unless noted:

- Havre de Grace – 120 N. Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078
- Aberdeen – 21 Franklin Street, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001
- Abingdon – 2510 Tollgate Road Abingdon, Maryland 21009
- Bel Air – 100 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Bel Air, Maryland 21014; open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
- Darlington – 1134 Main Street, Darlington, Maryland 21034; open noon to 5 p.m. on Thursdays.

If someone has a body temperature greater than 104 degrees, that person may suffer from heat stroke, with symptoms including confusion, combativeness, strong rapid pulse, lack of sweating, dry flushed skin, faintness, staggering, possible delirium or coma, according to Harford County health officials.
