Harford County Under Winter Weather Advisory

Evening commute Thursday may be affected, according to weather service.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of Maryland, including Harford County, Thursday afternoon and evening.

Effective from 3 to 9 p.m., the advisory calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain.

Freezing rain is expected to hit between 3 and 8 p.m., the weather service reported.

“Roads and sidewalks may become icy, resulting in hazardous travel during the evening rush,” according to the advisory.

  • Harford County (specifically northwest and southeast, including Jarrettsville and Aberdeen)
  • Baltimore City
  • Baltimore County
  • Carroll County
  • Frederick County
  • Howard County
  • Montgomery County

Less than one inch of snow and sleet is expected, according to the advisory.

Northern Maryland, parts of northern Virginia and the eastern Virginia panhandle are under the advisory, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s and winds may gust up to 20 mph, the weather service reports.

On Friday night, temperatures are expected to drop with wind chills below freezing, according to the weather service.
