HARFORD COUNTY, MD - A Bel Air woman recently got a visit from Santa, in the form of a deputy from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

In early December, a 69-year-old Bel Air woman reported the storage unit at her apartment complex had been burgled.

The Christmas decorations she had been collecting for 40 years were stolen, and so was her Christmas tree, officials said.

“I made her a promise to help restore her collection,” Deputy Kalambihis said after taking the report on Dec. 4.

Next, he turned to Facebook. “I made a post asking for help, and in less than a single day we were able to completely restore her collection!” Kalambihis said.

He delivered the new collection to the victim on Dec. 6, according to the sheriff’s office.

“She was devastated when she found all her decorations were gone. There are no words to express her and my sincere gratitude for all these beautiful and wonderful decorations that have been pouring in!” a woman who identified herself as the victim’s niece wrote on the sheriff’s office Facebook page. “The officer in the picture has been so wonderful in all of this! Thank you!”
