Hatem Bridge Crash Snarls Traffic On US 40 East: MDTA

BREAKING: Medics, tow truck were called to the bridge between Cecil and Harford counties, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.

Eastbound traffic was stopped briefly Tuesday afternoon on the Hatem Bridge as medics responded to a crash in the area.

The incident had cleared the bridge by 5 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.

Two vehicles crashed on the Hatem Bridge in the area of mile post 199.4 on US 40 at approximately 4:16 p.m., according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART).

After 4:30 p.m., transportation officials said that eastbound traffic was being held.

By 4:40 p.m., the left lane was getting by on US 40 east, while westbound traffic was flowing freely; a tow truck was at the scene.

As of 4:59 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority said that all lanes had reopened on the bridge.
