Havre de Grace Among Best Of The Bay 2017 For Marina, Food, Town: Survey

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — There was a strong showing for Havre de Grace in the Chesapeake Bay Magazine's 2017 "Best of the Bay" survey. Readers of the magazine voted for their top picks in an array of bay-themed categories, from best dockmaster to most eco-friendly marina.

Tidewater Marina cleaned up, winning distinction in nine categories. In addition, Havre de Grace was designated among the best cities on the bay in three areas: food, small-town feel and dog friendliness.

Here is how Havre de Grace fared in the Chesapeake Bay Magazine's "Best of the Bay" survey, according to Chesapeake Bay Magazine:

Best Town for Small Town Feel: Havre de Grace ranked No. 4, after Rock Hall, St. Michaels and Oxford.

Best Town for Foodies: Havre de Grace ranked No. 5, after Annapolis, St. Michaels, Rock Hall and Baltimore.

Best Dog-Friendly Town: Havre de Grace was No. 6, after Rock Hall; Chesapeake City; Annapolis; St. Michaels; and Deltaville, Virginia.

Best Ice Cream Parlor: Bomboy’s ranked No. 3, after Get The Scoop in Rock Hall and Durding's Store in Rock Hall.

Best Restaurant for a Gourmet Meal: Laurrapin Grille ranked No. 4, after Osprey Point in Rock Hall, The Kitchen at The Imperial in Rock Hall and Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City.

Best Maritime Museum: Havre de Grace Maritime Museum was No. 5, after Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels; Deltaville Maritime Museum in Deltaville, Virginia; Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons; and Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Virginia.

The Tidewater Marina cleaned up in the rankings.
