Havre de Grace Apartment Fire Caused $50,000 In Damage: Officials
A fire in an apartment on North Washington Street left tens of thousands of dollars in damage, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reports.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — An apartment fire in Havre de Grace is under investigation. Officials say they are not sure what caused Thursday afternoon's kitchen blaze and have asked for information in the case.
The person who lived in the apartment in the 200 block of North Washington Street discovered the fire at 12:27 p.m. Thursday, officials said.
A smoke alarm went off in the apartment, and about 30 firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company responded, according to the fire marshal, which reported they brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes.

Crews knocked the fire in the kitchen and discovered the flames had extended to the attic, which they also put out, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company.
The fire left $50,000 in damage, the fire marshal reported.
