Havre de Grace Art Show to Fill Park with Artists, Music

The Havre de Grace Art Show in Tydings Park opens this Friday with a celebration including jazz and food from Coakley’s Pub.

Now in its fifty-first year, the art show puts the spotlight on artists and artisans exhibiting and selling original work including drawing; painting in oils, watercolors or acrylics; fibers; florals; glass; jewelry; handmade soap; metal; photography; pottery; basketry; ceramics; sculpture; and wood.

There’s no admission charge, and proceeds from the show’s activities to go to scholarships and community service organizations. Soroptimist International of Havre de Grace runs the event, which is open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Tydings Park on Commerce Street in Havre de Grace.

10–11:30 a.m. Shepherd’s Grass bluegrass gospel on stage near gazebo

10 a.m.–5 p.m. Liz Lawson face painting in children’s tent near playground

Noon–1 p.m. Part Two Dance Company on stage near gazebo

Noon- 1 p.m. Uncle Pete music show in children’s tent near playground

2–4 p.m. Fiery Deep bluegrass on stage near gazebo

Sunday, Aug. 17; open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
