Havre de Grace Boat Fire Ruled Arson: Fire Marshal

After investigators determined a boat in Havre de Grace was intentionally set ablaze, the Office of the State Fire Marshal is asking the public for information about who may be responsible.

At 9:16 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, a passerby noticed a boat was on fire in the grassy area by the intersection of Otsego Street and Freedom Lane, the fire marshal reported.

Five firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company responded and brought the blaze under control within 10 minutes, according to the report.

The 1999 Wellcraft Excalibur boat sustained $10,000 in damage, the fire marshal said.

According to the fire marshal, the incident was ruled arson and the fire was set in the cockpit area of the boat.
