Havre de Grace Cancels Fourth of July Fireworks Show for 2015

Authorities made the call Sunday afternoon.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal ruled that the fireworks in Havre de Grace would not be possible due to saturated conditions, the Havre de Grace Police Department announced Sunday afternoon.

The Fourth of July fireworks had been scheduled to take place at dusk near Tydings Park.

The area where the fireworks are traditionally launched, Park Island, would be unsafe for such activities because of flooding from recent rains, police said.
