Havre de Grace Catering Company Honored at Seafood Festival

A Havre de Grace catering company is the king crab.

Laughing Crab Catering was honored this week at the St. Augustine Seafood Festival in St. Augustine, FL.

The festival features a competition among invited vendors, and Laughing Crab won the top prize for Best Seafood Item for the second consecutive year. It's the first time a vendor has won the award in consecutive years at the event.

The winner was the stuffed Maryland rockfish sandwich—a new item in which a rockfish filet is wrapped around a crab cake, lightly breaded and served on a roll.

Laughing Crab crab cakes have won 15 awards. The City of Havre de Grace and the Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce recognized the business last year with the Regional Awareness Economic Development award.

In 2010, Laughing Crab participated in 46 events from New Jersey to Florida. This year's expanded schedule includes more stops along the east coast, and as far west as Ohio.
