More than 500 people participated in the annual Havre de Grace Halloween Parade, according to Recreation Specialist Karen Green, who said the number was more than ever before.
The event was "a fabulous night" that attracted "a wonderful crowd, great music, good weather and a record-breaking 500 contestants," Green said.
She added that at least 500 people, if not more, watched the parade and costume contest unfold on Congress Avenue at Washington Street the night before Halloween. (ICYMI, see scenes from Halloween in Havre de Grace.)
The top 15 winners from the costume contest were as follows:
- Ghostbusters with Marshmallow Man—Barry, Marie, Matthew and Gabrielle King with James Pou
- GEICO Money Man—Emily Kron
- Refrigerator—Olivia Gorsuch
- Despicable Me minion—Sophia MacKinnon
- Ravens mascots Edgar and Poe—Jacob & Joshua Riggs
- Dancing lion—Cash Whitehurst
- Prom king and queen—Hayden Hurst and LJ Minutoli
- Rocket boy—Andrew Levis
- Mermaid—Marion Jackson
- Slurpee—Bryce Bauer
- Old couple—Sarah and Kent Bromley
- Roller coaster—Julia Hutchinson and Emily Toepfer
- Twizzlers and popcorn—Liam and Brayden Harvey
- Captain Crunch and the cereal family—The Soul Family
- Fairy—Zaliyah Baker
