Come and learn how to effectively assist yourself, your family and your neighbors during a time of emergency. Proper training gives you the skills and confidence to be an effective responder!
The CERT (community emergency response team) team is now an official part of the city government and we are searching for new members. On Monday October 5th, Mayor Martin signed an Executive Order which places the Team officially under the jurisdiction of the Havre de Grace Police Dept. and Chief Krass. Our team liaison with the PD is Sgt. Dan Petz.
The Havre de Grace Community Emergency Response Team will be offering a new segment of 9 classes this fall. These classes are once per week and are about 2-2 1/2 hours in length.

A start date has not been determined yet, however we hope to begin early in November. Our training facility will be the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps building on Level Road, most likely on Thursdays. We will not offer classes during holiday weeks.
Classes include: Emergency Preparation, Incident Command and Structure, 2 modules on Emergency Medicine and First Aid, Disaster Psychology, Fire Safety and Utility Control, Basic Search and Rescue Techniques, Observational and how CERT's respond to Terrorism. The 9th week is a review of all and a final exam.

CERTS love what we do, and in assisting at city events, have fun too!
For any organization who may be looking for speakers for their groups, we will also be presenting CERT curriculum as stand alone lectures. Our most popular lectures are based on Emergency Preparedness, and a new lecture on The Dark Web.
