Havre de Grace First Waterfront Festival Coming Aug 24-25
Celebrating the past, present and future of the Havre de Grace Waterfront

What is a Waterfront Festival? It is everything from entertainment, learning, food and fun. It is Crabs and Seafood. It is two US Army Ships to explore. There are demonstrations of fish and birds from the MD Department of Natural Resource and Susquehannock Wildlife Society. Vulcan Corporation will exhibit their quarry equipment; can you walk inside a tire? The festival has a main stage of live music such as the Carlos Cubas Band and the Nicole Milano Band, as well as smaller stages of music. It is activities from Splash Golf, to axe throwing, to carnival games. There is food and drink, a beer garden and ice cream. The Decoy Museum will bring a demonstration of decoy carvers and retriever dogs. For the kids, there is a play area and moon bounce to enjoy, after they have tried the youth fishing derby and a visit with the Mermaids. All of this is split between the Concord Point Park and Hutchins Park. Downtown is also part of the fun, with a crab soup cookoff and specials in the stores. The Opera House will show Disney's "The Little Mermaid" and a live Ariel performance and meet and greet for the kids at 1:00 on Saturday. There is just so much to do. And to top it all off, there will be fireworks on Saturday night, viewable from most places along the waterfront.
The Festival starts on Saturday, Aug 24th at 3PM with the unveiling of the new public art sculpture at Concord Park. The Fireworks will begin at 8:30PM. Sunday will continue the fun starting at 10 am to 5:00PM. Free shuttles will be available to move between the parks, downtown sites, and parking areas. The festival overall is free, with tickets available for specific events such as the crab feast, crab soup cookoff, and Opera House movie.
Come join us for the first annual Waterfront Festival, and enjoy all the joys of the Havre de Grace waterfront!
